In the "dustbowl" region during the Great Depression, "Oakies" pioneered the innovative practice of populating the working farm with cats. Cats attract a lot of dust. In a few short years millions of cats had restored America's bread basket to a plentiful bounty, but soon after found themselves out of work when farm cats were replaced with Mexicans.
